Pre-Trip Planning

Prior planning a trip, insured should pay attention to "Outbound Travel Alerts (OTA)" and "Sanctioned Countries".

There are three levels of travel warnings:

  • Yellow OTA: indicates that there are signs of threats. Travelers should always pay attention to the situation and be vigilant when traveling to the local area.

  • Red OTA: indicates that there is an obvious threat in the local area. It is recommended to adjust the itinerary and avoid going there unless necessary.

  • Black OTA: The most serious of the three levels, indicating that the local area is under serious threat and should not be visited.

Compensation ratio:

Most travel insurers will only provide 100% compensation for black travel alerts, 50% compensation for red travel alerts, and a few companies will also provide 25% compensation for yellow travel alerts.

Sanctioned Countries List

It is the insured's responsibility to check this list regularly to ensure that you are aware of the latest sanctioned countries/regions.

Sanctioned countries/regions are considered as exclusion for insurer.
